F. Production process
Aerated concrete is made of the raw materials silica sand (or fly ash), lime and cement. The silica sand is ground to fine sand slurry and then fed into the mixer and, according to variable recipes, mixed with the bonding agents and the aluminium dispersion. The ready mixture is immediately filled into a mould and transported to the fermentation area. In the fermentation area the mixture reacts to become an aerated concrete cake by means of generation of hydrogen, and starts to stiffen. When the cake is stiff enough to be cut the blocks are cut in the cutting line to the required dimensions. The blocks obtain their final strength by means of hardening under steam pressure in the autoclaves.
